Restoration of Older Wooden Boats (slightly used)

Except for modern caulking, paints, and varnishes, we use only traditional methods and materials to build or restore wooden boats.  Restoring a finely made boat to its original condition is every bit as satisfying as building a new boat from scratch.  Restoring a fine boat gives a new life to something which has acquired intrinsic value with age; that through design and craftsmanship has served someone well over the years.   In renewing the boat we honor it with hard work and an attention to detail, and it repays us with its own lessons as it's restored.

Our restoration work started about 20 years ago with wooden and wood-canvas canoes. Then came rowing-fishing boats, such as the Keuka Lake trout boat and the St. Lawrence skiff and a couple of fine old Snipes.
